We are excited to announce that Team Collaboration by Design @NSECrickets (Twitter) will be supported by RSD2's R2Innovates program. We are thrilled to be able to expose our elementary students to technology, resources, space, and programs that will better prepare them for middle school, high school, and beyond!
First grade students have researched birdhouse designs. Students drew scale drawings of a birdhouse design on graphing paper. Students then designed a pattern for one piece of a birdhouse (side, back, front, top, etc...). Students then drew their design on a piece of a birdhouse. The next step is for the students to design and create an advertisement to sell the birdhouses. They will make posters as well as create an ad to be placed on the school website.
Third through fifth grade students have been involved in researching, designing, and assembling miniature corn hole games for sale. Students understand and know the cost and design of full-sized (24" X 48") wooden corn hole game set. However, in order to give all students an opportunity to assemble a corn hole game, we decided to create mini-corn hole game sets. Students will paint the corn hole boards next week and prepare an advertisement to be placed on the school website and social media outlets.
