An Ethic of Excellence

I just finished reading An Ethic of Excellence by Ron Berger. I was totally engrossed in the book because of Ron's commitment to the importance of student work in the classroom. Ron talks about student work as if it is his most prized possession as a classroom teacher. Not only was he extremely proud of the work that his students produced, published, and presented, but his students were very proud as well. Ron's commitment is to make the work that he asks his students to complete to be meaningful and valuable to his students as well as his community. What can we do at NSE to make the work that we ask students to complete in our classrooms to have more meaning and value to not only teachers, but the students and NSE community as well?
